To me, kids are sacred.
They are pure spirits that came to this world with a purpose and they have an inner guidance to get them there. Our job as parents is to get out of the way, so we can support them in doing just that.
I believe that…
- my children are not my children- they have been loaned to me temporarily for the purpose of loving them and instilling a foundation of values of which their future lives will build.
- parenting is not for teaching- it is for making teaching unnecessary.
- children do what we do, not what we say.
- Our job as parents is to help our kids meet challenges with independence and strength.
“A true friend known your weaknesses but shows you your strengths, feels your fears but fortifies your faith, sees your anxieties but frees your spirit, recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.” – William Arthur Ward
How empowering would it be to raise our children on the foundation of these values?
